LUUANDA \u00e9 um resid\u00eancia art\u00edstica realizada colectivo P\u00e9s Descal\u00e7os. O projecto foi o vencedor do Open Call internacional lan\u00e7ado pela Funda\u00e7\u00e3o Calouste Gulbenkian para realiza\u00e7\u00e3o de Resid\u00eancias Art\u00edsticas nos Pa\u00edses Africanos de L\u00edngua Oficial Portuguesa \u2013 PALOPS, com objectivo de apoiar \u00e1reas das Artes Visuais, Fotografia, V\u00eddeo e Dan\u00e7a Contempor\u00e2nea. Com dura\u00e7\u00e3o de 3 anos, a iniciativa da Funda\u00e7\u00e3o visa apoiar a internacionaliza\u00e7\u00e3o da produ\u00e7\u00e3o art\u00edstica nos PALOPS, Angola, Cabo Verde e Mo\u00e7ambique s\u00e3o os pa\u00edses que v\u00e3o acolher as resid\u00eancias art\u00edsticas durante tr\u00eas anos.<\/p>\n

Inspirado na obra hom\u00f3nima de Luandino Vieira, a Resid\u00eancia Art\u00edstica LUUANDA vai intervir na \u00e1reas das artes visuais em Angola, incidindo no que significa viver na Luanda contempor\u00e2nea, seguindo a constru\u00e7\u00e3o imagin\u00e1ria t\u00e3o explorada na literatura de Luandino Vieira, Uanhenga Xito, Ondjaki, entre outros.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1\/2″][vc_column_text]Esta cidade p\u00f3s-colonial \u00e9 marcada por fluxos migrat\u00f3rios e por v\u00e1rios processos de mudan\u00e7a; pelo tr\u00e2nsito, luzes e ru\u00eddos; pelos vendedores e vendedoras de rua que criam um importante espa\u00e7o de economia informal do pa\u00eds, ao expor diariamente tudo o que vendem. Estas din\u00e2micas resultam numa circula\u00e7\u00e3o de corpos e vidas que parecem ter sido esquecidas pelo processo de crescimento do pa\u00eds.<\/p>\n

O projecto ter\u00e1 um enfoque sobre as metodologias e processos de investiga\u00e7\u00e3o em arte, como pano de fundo da cidade de Luanda e das suas institui\u00e7\u00f5es culturais, seguindo tamb\u00e9m um formato de workshops que incluir\u00e1 atividades para os artistas e para o p\u00fablico: cria\u00e7\u00e3o em est\u00fadio, visitas a cidade, visitas a ateli\u00eas de artistas e espa\u00e7os de exposi\u00e7\u00e3o, apresenta\u00e7\u00f5es e conversas com artistas.<\/p>\n

Applications are now open (until 31 July<\/strong>) for the 3rd edition of LUUANDA Artist Residency.<\/p>\n

Produced by Coletivo P\u00e9s Descal\u00e7os,\u00a0<\/span>the LUUANDA Artist Residency Programme focuses on the experience of living in contemporary Luanda, through its characters, rhythms, poetry, nostalgia, and drama; and following the imaginary construction so explored in the literature of writers such as Luandino Vieira, Uanhenga Xito, Ondjaki, and others.
\nThis post-colonial city is marked by migratory flows and various processes of change; by traffic, lights, and noise; by street vendors who create an important space for the country’s informal economy by displaying everything they sell on a daily basis.<\/p>\n

The program is funded by the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation and aims to support the international mobility of artists born and resident in the PALOP countries, in the areas of visual arts (including image and visual arts) and curatorship.<\/p>\n

Applications for the 2nd edition of LUUANDA Artist Residency will be open on 19 April 2021<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

In this edition, the artists will be challenged to work under the theme “LOST BORDERS”, through a varied program of activities. The theme taken from the work of the Angolan writer Jos\u00e9 Eduardo Agualusa, is inscribed in a globalized fictional universe, the multiplicity of identities originated after the Angolan independence, and the importance of this reflection for the creation of works that are inscribed in a place between the real and the fictional<\/span>.<\/p>\n
